My Students

The students in my classroom are 3-5 year old boys and girls in a public preschool setting. We are a fully inclusive classroom with children from a variety of backgrounds and differing abilities. The students come for either a half day session (morning or afternoon) or have the option of attending "wrap around care" for a full day as well.

Albert Einstein said, "Play is the highest form of research." The goal in our preschool program is for children to receive a well-rounded, developmentally appropriate education.

We believe that children at this age learn so much while they are exploring and learning with hands-on, multi-sensory materials.

My Project

The students in my classroom range from just-turned-3-years-old to much larger 5-year-old students. There are a variety of students with special needs in my classroom, including students who need to be held by an adult for story time and students in wheelchairs. We need a new area rug that will give each student his or her own clearly-defined space to sit while we gather for large group.

This attractive, educational-themed carpet will provide ALL students in our classroom with a space where they can sit comfortably and see the teacher without being crowded.

There are enough spots for the teacher and para-educators to join the children on the carpet. The design on the carpet will allow us to use it for transitions, songs, and other learning activities as well.
