Dear donors,
Our class started the year with 24 students.
After the first day of school Maui experienced the worst natural disaster in the history of the islands. School was closed for a week due to the fact of schools being used as shelters. When class stared back there were three new faces, children that have been affected by the disaster. The children spend time at their desks but also come to the floor when being taught as a group. The old carpet has 20 squares and is much too small. It is important that every student feels like they have a "spot" of their own.
