This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Adding a color printer to our classroom is the next step to developing a welcoming environment. Throughout the year we have several assignments that ask for students to be artistic. Activities such as creating storyboards and comics and writing and designing a poetry anthology require students to draw and add images, to explore their artistic and imaginative sides. Students put a lot of work and energy into these assignments only to be let down when the single option is to print in black and white.
Color images light up the room and their faces.
When I added color posters to the class the students loved them. I can only imagine their smiles when their unique works will be displayed in color! A color printer will open up the curriculum to more creative and colorful activities. This is just a small way to make the environment a little more student friendly, and hopefully, a little happier!
