Help me give my students an independent floor workspace which would also be a special place for them to work whenever they feel most inspired!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Dixon's classroom raised $524
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
First, I would like to thank everyone who will take the time to donate to this project. Some of my wonderful students are from economically challenged neighborhoods in the South Bronx who regardless of these circumstances, still try to adhere to the CARES values of the school: Collaborative, Appreciative, Responsible, Empathetic and remaining Steadfast. The requested supplies will provide additional flexible seating so getting this project fully funded will ensure that each student have what they need.
The students will benefit greatly from having some flex-space comfy floor seats and lap desks which would help to create special places for them to sit and read their many books.
The chairs will provide flexible seating whenever they need it and the flex-space lap desks with a flat surface is the right height for kids and a place for them to work whenever they feel most inspired.
Thank you in advance for ensuring my students will have their special reading spaces.
My Project
Students will be able to use these flex-space seating arrangements to work independently away from their desks as needed. As a special education teacher, I will be using these seating arrangements to provide additional support or instructions to small groups as well as one-on-one instructions to my exceptional students. The independent floor work spaces will also be used as spaces where all students in the classroom will have the opportunity to sit and read books, a space which will inspire creative thinking such as drawing or writing. Their own space.
