A Special Place for Our Books

My students need a place to keep their books. The canvas bags and hooks will provide them with a personal book bag and a place to hang it!

My Students

Peaking through our classroom door, you'll see students curled up with books, writing book recommendations, writing blogs, sharing their goals and helping one another reach their goals.

I teach in a wonderful school where you will find students that speak over 47 languages.

We have families that have lived in the area for generations to families that are refugees. One of my many goals for these students is to leave the school year loving to read!

My Project

Research shows that students grow as readers when they are reading with 98% accuracy. Each student reads different books depending on their ability level. This means that each student needs their own personal library. They need a place to put these books, something they can bring with them everywhere they go and a place to keep their books. I am asking for a canvas bag for each student and 3M hooks to place on the back of their chairs to have a place to hang their bag.

One goal this year, is for students to invest in their reading lives.

We will kick off year by celebrating all the hard work they have done to become the readers they are today and we will get pumped up to set goals and take charge of our reading lives. Students are moving from being read to by their parents to staying up late with a flashlight to finish their books. Students will be given this bag to design and make their own! It is a place to showcase their reading lives!
