A Special Perspective
My students need a classroom set of digital cameras to use when working on writing and language development.
"Child, you have to learn to see things in the right proportions. Learn to see great things great and small things small."Â~Corrie Ten Boom~ The children we teach see things in a different way then we do. Help others to understand their perspective of the world. Give them a way to record theirs.
Our students have various disabilities that present different challenges for each individual.
They are ages 14-21 years old. The program is focused on independent living and work readiness. Our school is an alternative school in rural Idaho. We are in a community that is economically depressed and have limited funding for the program.
Our students learn best by having visuals to work with. If our kids had access to digital cameras they would be able to take pictures that they need for story starters. They would also be able to use the cameras to make video diaries and picture schedules. The cameras would give them a way to record and share events throughout their day. Please help us give the students these tools.
Having these cameras will make a great impact in visual learning for my students.
You can make a difference by putting tools into the hands of students that would otherwise not have the opportunity to interact with this type of technology. They are worth the investment that will help others see through their eyes.
