This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is my first year teaching. Growing up my 3rd and 8th teacher were the ones who impacted my life. But what was more powerful was a handwritten letter they wrote to me saying how much they believed in me. Many years went by and what kept me going to pursue my little girl dream was reading their notes. This year my first class has taught me many things, but the most important thing I want each of my students to know is for them to reach their dreams and goals. They each have unique talents and hopes for the future.

At the beginning of the school year we read the Spanish version of "A letter from your teacher on the first day of school." We have created a classroom family and we get close to the end of the school year I want to read them the Spanish book, " A letter from your teacher on the last day of school." Not only do I want to gift every student a book, but I will be writing them each a letter inside the book for them to cherish for the years to come.

My class knows how much they mean to me and I know that by your contributions it will make this project be successful and powerful.
