This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach kindergarten in a 12:1 setting in a Title I school in the Bronx. These little ones are always sick! Whether it's a runny nose, the flu, or just a cold, my students go through our materials so quickly. In order to keep my classroom as clean and safe as possible, it is essential we have all the right materials. We just got a new carpet for our meeting area. This is great, but the dirt that comes with it, is not! We really need a carpet sweeper and materials to keep our carpet clean.
It is so important that our classroom is as germ free as possible, as we are working to get our class attendance up, but my students are always sick!
We clean their desks multiple times a day, which is why we really need more Lysol wipes. We have a sink in our room, which is why hand soap and paper towels are important. Last but certainly not least in our class, TISSUES. These little kiddos are always blowing their noses.
We have end of the year trips planned, and some on-the-go hand sanitizer helps us practice being safe and healthy outside of the classroom, just as much as we practice this inside of our classroom.
