This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is filled with 32 fun and loving 1st graders. Every morning we come together on the floor to start our day and welcome one another to a wonderful day of learning and discovery.

We strive each day to make sure that our school is welcoming to all of our students and is a home away from home.

My students are a wonderful mix of personalities, full of energy and eager to learn and discover. Our students come from low-income homes. Most live in apartments and some move frequently. Our school provides all students with free lunch and breakfast.

My Project

My students spend a large portion of the day on the floor for whole group lessons, activities and learning. They would love to have their own space! With this new carpet each child will have a special place of their own to do their own thinking and learning.

Every child needs a special space to call their own.

Your donation will help the wonderful children in my class have a space to call their own during carpet time. During our carpet time, we learn through whole group instruction, share with one another, and discover new interests.
