My Project
Many of my students struggle to manage big emotions, even in small group settings. This project will create a calm down area in our classroom—a safe, quiet space where students can go when they feel overwhelmed. With calming tools and sensory supports, this space will allow them to practice the self-regulation strategies they are learning. Having a designated area just for them will help them feel more in control, regain focus, and return to their general education classrooms ready to learn and engage. This space is not just about calming down—it’s about helping students build lifelong emotional skills.
