A Soft Place to Land

Help me give my students a rug where we can gather for our morning meetings as well as reading time. Having a central spot for the students is so important as we are a class family! Thank you!

My Project

I have been a teacher for 30 years. While I have had classrooms without an area rug, I have noticed that when I have one, there is a sense of belonging. Every child sits together and gravitates towards the spot. My students are amazing children who would love a soft place to land, to read, socialize, meet and just relax.

In my classroom, it would be so lovely to direct the students to the rug as children (and adults) need to have a sense of belonging.
