My Project
In our third-grade classroom, where students are embarking on their first journey of learning English, a simple carpet is so much more than just a floor covering—it's a foundation for connection, learning, and belonging. For our young language learners, this carpet will become a safe, comfortable space where barriers dissolve and confidence grows.
During group discussions and interactive lessons, the carpet serves as our classroom's heart.
When students sit together in a circle, they create a supportive environment where speaking a new language feels less intimidating. Hesitant speakers can lean in close, watch facial expressions, and feel the warmth of community. The soft, defined space helps students who are navigating the complexities of English feel secure and supported.
Our carpet will transform silent moments of uncertainty into collaborative learning opportunities. It will be a stage for storytelling, a space for shared read-alouds, and a gathering place where pronunciation, vocabulary, and communication skills can flourish without fear. For children learning English, every moment of connection is a milestone—and this carpet will be the ground where those milestones are celebrated.
