My Project

I am a fourth grade teacher at a Title I school, where students come from low-income households, and where all students receive free lunch. We also participate in the backpack program which supplements their food supply at home.

My students are usually very hungry before the close of the day, and need a snack to survive the stretch between lunch at school, and dinner when they arrive home.

Some students also need a snack when they are late, have not had any breakfast, and the cafeteria is shut down until lunch. Additionally, one of the students in my classroom has diabetes, and it is important to have a snack available for her.

When fourth grade students are hungry, they don't want to learn, they want to eat! With cookies, crackers, and granola bars, you will help increase student focus and engagement during our mid-day science, social studies, and math blocks.

These snacks will provide students with the boost of energy and excitement that they need to make it over hurdles of time where they have to wait for the next meal. With your donation, you will turn frowns upside down, and my students will be grateful!
