it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are special because, when they are faced with challenges, they have a positive growth mindset that propels them to complete a fashion design project in spite of the many challenging circumstances. .
They are always eager to learn and discover innovative ways to create fashion designs, and they continually utilize their 21st century skills - critical thinking and collaborating.
My students come from many diverse cultures, backgrounds, and communities. They are the creative fashion designers of the future.
My Project
The students need to have the space to utilize the dress forms, cutting tables, and sewing machines. At present, we have a movable screen that is not only awkwardly taking up space, but it can only serves one purpose. A SMART Board that is affixed to the wall, would not only save space, but it would also allow for many different media formats to be utilized and displayed. For example: photos, illustrations, games, and videos. These are the 21st Century tools that will not only expand the curriculum, but enrich the fashion student's classroom learning experience. The SMART Board would provide new ways for the students to learn and the teacher to teach. The interactive nature of the Smart Board, would give the fashion tactile learners an enriched hands-on experience. The Smart Board makes it easy to access and exhibit online data. The Smart Board can be environmentally friendly by cutting down photo copying and paper usage.
