This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I have some amazing computer scientist and engineers in my classroom. I want to build a smart lab and one of the stations will be a Microbit station. Having a smart lab will allow my engineers and computer scientist to rotate through stations for engage ing hands on lessons. My plan is to have lessons at each stations and students rotate through creating things from unicorn greeting cards to wearable technology. As part of a stem station smart lab, students would possibly go to the manufacturing station and create a shirt with a heat pressed image. They would them roatate to the Microbit station and sew led lights to the shirt then program the Microbit to make the lights blink. That is just one idea of what students would be able to do at the Microbit station. My idea for the smart lab is to have students own their learning and do the activities that interest them on a rotation.
