This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A pencil is a basic tool that every single student uses at a school every single day. The greatest struggle for teachers and students is sharpening those pencils every day with a small hand sharpener. I want that struggle to be reduced with the help of an electric pencil sharpener in every classroom K - 4. Also, teachers need adult scissors to prepare activities for their students, and the kids scissors are hard to manipulate when you need to cut activities for 20 -22 students. I want to help the teachers by providing one good pair of adult scissors, to every teacher K-4, that adjust to their hands.

A simple tool, as an electric pencil sharpener, can make a difference in a classroom.

It will benefit both: the students and the teachers, by cutting the sharpening time and having a good sharpened pencil ready to continue their work and learning.

When students sharpen a pencil with a small hand sharpener, they continuously get the lead broken, the pencil wood bitten and shavings all over the floor. It does not matter how many pencils they try to sharpen, it comes to the same result and this delays finishing their work, and a times the student gets frustrated. An electric pencil sharpener will help tremendously and teachers will be very thankful, as well as getting adult scissors.
