A Shovel for You....a Rake for Me!

Help me give my students shovels and rakes to help prepare the outdoor garden and classroom area.

My Students

We are located in a small farming community in rural Indiana.

Our school is filled with amazing students, students that want to learn, and students that are hard workers!

We are a cluster team of two teachers and 40 students that consists of two first grade classrooms. Our students come from a wide range of economic backgrounds. We also have a wide range of academic abilities. Our students are different in many ways but they have one thing in common: their love for learning!

My Project

This spring our team will start working on our outdoor classroom area and start prepping our garden area. The outdoor classroom area is located in the wooded area outside our classroom window. We will need rakes and shovels to clear the underbrush in this area. We also will use rakes and shovels to prep our garden area. We will use them to remove left over weeds from the last harvest, to help us add soil and compost, and to plant new plants.

These tools will be used by the students to create new hands on outdoor learning area.
