My Students

My seventh and eighth grade ELA class is a place of challenge and discovery. Students spend this year learning the foundation of knowledge and skills they will need as they move forward in their educational journey.

The students are in a rural, Alabama school.

They are excited to explore the world of literature, to learn about the classics and to expand their capacity for critical thinking. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.

My Project

A Wrinkle in Time won several awards such as the Newberry Medal, Sequoyah Book Award, Lewis Carroll Shelf Award and was the runner-up for the Hans Christian Andersen Award.

I would like for my students to experience this book before the new Disney movie is released.

We all know that the book is always better than the movie!

Beyond the huge imaginative universe, A Wrinkle in Time and the books that follow have another premise and message for children: life is big and expansive and scary. But if you jump forward in the fifth dimension, the possibilities of the future will blow your mind.
