This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Ever try writing with a dull pencil? What about coloring with a flat tip crayon? Well, my students have and it isn't easy especially for our little ones in kindergarten.
I teach Dual Language Kindergarten in Texas.
Many of my students are learning English as a second language while still maintaining their native Spanish language but, this year I have English speakers that are learning Spanish. What a wonderful opportunity for these students yet to make it complete we are in need of several materials such as a pencil sharpener.
My Project
With a new pencil sharpener my students will have easier access to sharped pencils. No waiting for pencils to be sharpened, no complaining "My pencil doesn't work!" and best of all more time for writing. I have almost 40 students in my classroom in one day not at the same time but they do use the same material that is out on the tables. Having this new sharpener will make it easier and faster to sharpen out pencils. I have also asked for a crayon sharpener. I had never tried to color with a flat (no tip) crayon before, no wonder they cant stay in the lines. Try it one day you'll see what I mean. I ask them to color pretty well, in order for them to do so I need help giving them crayons with points (tips.)
Help our students have well sharpened pencils and crayons.
Help them have more time to write and to color pretty. Help us get a new pencil and crayon sharpener. You can make the difference. Help our kids get Sharp!
