My Students
Have you ever sharpened a pencil only to have the lead point fall right out when you go to write? Pencils should sharpen the right way every time and a sharpener should be able to handle sharpening 100 pencils a day.
My class is filled with high-energy 3rd graders who use their supplies and use them well.
We have a very hands-on classroom, but when my students sit down to write, they deserve to have the tools necessary to get the work done. Frustration during work often starts with something as simple as not having the right tools.
My Project
My students need #2 pencils and an electric sharpener. Pencils are used during all parts of our day. They are usually the first thing the comes to mind when you think of school supplies. I have quickly learned that not all pencils are the same and they can't sharpen themselves. I would like my students to be able to get through entire days without worrying about something as simple as a pencil.
