This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 5th grade students are curious, enthusiastic learners who are developing stronger reading skills every day. To support their growth, I want to create a classroom library that offers a wide range of books that reflect their interests, identities, and the world around them.

Many of my students do not have access to books at home, and our current classroom library is limited in both quantity and diversity.

With your support, I hope to fill our shelves with high-interest fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, and books that feature diverse characters, cultures, and experiences. These books will not only improve literacy, but also foster empathy, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of reading.

Your donation will help me purchase books that are age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and aligned with the reading levels and interests of my students. Together, we can give every child in our class the chance to see themselves in the stories they read—and to explore new worlds through the pages of a book.
