My Project
Students at Wenonah Elementary love coming to school each day and want to do their best. Sometimes, students become overwhelmed during the school day and need a place to reset.
Our students deal with many home and school stressors and often need help coping with their big feelings.
Throughout the school day, students have the opportunity to visit the sensory room to do just that. The items listed below will help our students calm their bodies and focus their brains so they can return to their classroom and do their best learning. The inflatable pea pod, cocoon swing, and weighted husky will provide our students a place to rest and calm their body; the Magna-Tiles, puzzle, latch board, and therapy tangle will give students something tangible to manipulate to refocus their brains; the emoji cubes will help them process their emotions; and the ear muffs will help them block out noise that may be overwhelming. Help us create a well stocked sensory room, which will give our students a calm place to take a break and reset so that they can be their best selves at school each day.
