This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our classroom, every student deserves a space where they can feel comfortable, focused, and ready to learn. Unfortunately, many of the desks we currently have are old, mismatched, have inappropriate drawings, damaged, making it difficult for students to sit comfortably or organize their learning materials. By providing new desks, I hope to create a classroom environment that is not only functional but also welcoming—a space that shows students they are valued and that their education matters.

New desks will give my students a sense of ownership and pride in their learning space.

They will be able to work without distraction, have enough room for their materials, and feel physically supported throughout the school day. Your donation will help transform our classroom into a place where students can focus, collaborate, and engage fully in their education.

Specifically, the write and wipe spaces are especially beneficial for Deaf students because they provide a highly visual, interactive surface that supports immediate communication and language practice. At centers, students can quickly write or draw responses, clarify concepts through visuals, and engage in hands-on learning activities without relying on paper or spoken instructions. This fosters independence, reinforces ASL vocabulary, and allows for real-time feedback in a way that’s accessible and adaptable to their language needs.
