My Students

My Pre-K students are from all backgrounds. They attend our Title I PreK, Monday-Friday for a half day. We are in a diverse neighborhood with students of many different cultures that attend Pre-K. Our school services PreK-5th grades. We have over 400 students in our school. Many are free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch students. Our Pre-K services the neediest students in our community.

Despite the many challenges my students may face, they are eager to learn.

They love school and can't wait to see what we are learning and doing each day.

My Project

In our district, all PreK classrooms are moving to a more natural and flexible learning environment. I have decided to swap out all of my standard rectangle tables for tables and chairs in all sizes, shapes, and styles. This will allow students more freedom to sit where they are comfortable and where they learn the best rather than all sitting at the same tables and chairs. I am hoping this will increase learning and student collaboration.
