This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing fifth graders that attend a title 1 school in Hawthorne, CA. My students have unique strengths, but one thing they have in common is a strong love of learning. Although they may not have a lot of resources to keep up with the ever changing world, they are always up for the challenge of learning something new.

My fifth graders need a table where they can work in small groups with their teacher and peers with limited distraction from the rest of the class.

In our classroom, my students are constantly working hard and eager to learn. We are always working in small groups at the carpet or at their desks, but it is hard for some students to stay on task and focus on the work they are doing.

I want to make the classroom the best environment possible where my students can express themselves creatively and be exposed to all sorts of learning experiences.

My Project

I need a trapezoid table that my fifth grade students can fit around, and focus on the lesson at had.

Having a table that for my students would maximize the effects of my small-group reading instruction and allow me to reach more students with the precious amount of small-group time I have.

Our students deserve to get the most instructional minutes possible out of their day, and having a table would help more kids access direct instruction at their level at a time.

Our small group table is a vital piece of our math and language arts classroom. This is where our interventions happen, both reteaching and extension. Students are able to be in a small group setting, with the teacher, to get the help that they are in need of. Students make huge strides while working in small groups, and enjoy the smaller settings.
