A Scooter Ride Lifts All Boats!

Help me give my students better social, emotional, mental and physical opportunities and development through the use of scooters!

My Students

Students at my school are AMAZING! As their P.E. Coach, I've been privileged to work with all the students at the school and can speak from a uniquely holistic view of the school. Over half of our students come from economically disadvantaged households, limiting their access to healthy social, emotional, mental and physical opportunities and development. But even in the face of these challenges (including the pandemic), the students continue to care about learning and work hard at it! They're so caring towards each other and respect the school, teachers and administration. They're polite, positive, understanding and patient. Like I said, they're AMAZING!

Through your help, we could give these students great experiences to improve their social, emotional, mental and physical development!

With limited equipment funds, it's very difficult to provide my school with great P.E. equipment - yet these students are so deserving of it! By getting better equipment for these students, we could be a tide that lifts all boats!

My Project

Students love using scooters! Not only are they an exciting novelty to experience in P.E. class, they're great for building gross motor skills and engaging students in teamwork or individual enjoyment. The specific scooters I'm hoping for have interlocking capabilities and inline wheels with higher profile. These features would allow for more team building activities, better movement of the scooter, and more comfortability for the students.

These scooters would be used by over 600 students - having a positive impact on their social, emotional, mental and physical wellbeing!

Whether through individual, team, or class effort, students will have a blast participating in various activities! These activities range from scooter hockey, to relays, to free time!

It's been said that a rising tide lifts all boats. From an elementary student's perspective, a "scooter ride" lifts all boats!
