This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Kindergarten teacher in a New York City Public School. I love teaching kindergarten and the one thing I know my students love is to play with the toys in the classroom. I like to provide as many educational toys as I can so that they are entertained while they are learning.
I have centers set up in my room to reinforce lessons that the students are learning. The center that I am lacking materials for is my science center. The children have some animals and books to look at but no materials to experiment with.
One of the materials that I am asking for is a Science Instant Learning Center. The centers provide hands-on materials that students can play with while concepts are reinforced. I am also asking for puzzles. They provide students with a chance to develop their motor and visual skills while ideas about plants or the seasons are exposed to them while the puzzle is being put together.
I am asking for these science materials because I have seen how center time has provided students with extra help or just a way to reinforce a lesson that was taught. I love to provide my students with any hands-on experience I can so that my students can learn and to see them get that experience while they are playing with toys is even better.
