it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting play camping and group play items to create an end-of-the-year experience my students will likely remember their whole lives. School should not only be all work and no play. Too often, the fun is taken out of school. Teaching at a Title 1 school has shown me that too often, children from low SES homes are not afforded the experiences others are given. It has always been my goal to create core memories for my students so they can create a positive connection to school and learning. The items I am requesting will make a difference in how they view coming to school and being learners.
My goal for this project is to create a magical end-of-the-year experience for my students.
I want them to be awe-struck when they enter the classroom on the special day and it has been transformed into a magical campground, complete with tents, a play fire, learning games, and fairy lights.
My students are special because they are the future, and it is my job to instill in them a sense of wonder and the desire to be lifelong learners.
