My Project

Help me give my students a rich social emotional learning experience that fosters academic engagement with a classroom fish tank. Nature leads by example, by giving students the opportunity to work with an aquatic ecosystem that exists in harmony, they can develop life skills and community responsibility. My classroom is exclusively newcomer and ELL students, and we are always looking for new ways to connect beyond a language barrier.

Help my students swim towards their bright futures by building a classroom community that cares for a living ecosystem.

Giving students something to take responsibility for helps them feel a sense of belonging in a world that can often feel isolating. Classroom pets can engage students in the classroom who otherwise struggle to build connections at school. With a classroom fish tank, our classroom can literally come to life with learning!
