The band students at Triway Junior High are talented and kind. Located in a rural Wayne County of Ohio, our district is a sought-after location for homebuyers, in part, because of the excellent reputation of the students and their families. When Triway band students perform with or alongside other band students of Wayne (and surrounding) counties, they shine every time. However, I am most pleased with their character, leadership skills, and capacity for genuine caring.
In the classroom, Triway Junior High band students can best be described as focused and fun!
They do not tire of sharpening their fundamental band skills that maximize their music reading and performance abilities. These band students can go from hard-working rehearsal to belly laughs and back to rigorous music making in the blink of an eye. They are a joy.
My Project
The band students at Triway Junior High are talented, fun, and focused. Unfortunately, a band instrument that is old is prone to frequent repairs. This has an ongoing and negative effect on a band student's learning and performance experiences, no matter how focused or positive they aspire to be.
This Tenor Saxophone will be used by decades of Triway Junior High band students.
Typically, Triway band instruments last at least 30 years - the sax that will be retired (by the successful completion of this project) is 42 years old. The story of this project and of DonorsChoose will be shared with band students and their families for years to come.
