Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love how curious, creative, and full of emotion my students are. Each day, they come to school ready to explore, learn, and connect—not just with academics, but with themselves and each other. What makes my students so special is their resilience and their hearts. Many of them are learning how to manage big emotions while also growing academically in two languages. They thrive in environments where they feel safe, understood, and supported.
This project will provide tools to help them focus, calm down, and engage in meaningful play.
The noise-canceling headphones will give students who are easily distracted or overwhelmed a way to block out noise and concentrate on their learning. The calm-down corner coloring boxes will be a space where students can take a break, regulate their emotions, and return to learning ready and refreshed. The magnetic tiles will be used as a creative and collaborative tool during center time, promoting teamwork, problem-solving, and imagination. These items support both their social-emotional growth and academic success.
My goal is to create a classroom environment that honors every child’s needs—whether that’s a quiet space to reset, tools to help them focus, or opportunities to build and create with joy.
