My Students
First and second graders are energetic, enthusiastic, and super social. They are so enjoyable to be around. They love being involved in the learning process and want to succeed. Our goal as a classroom is that we enter the classroom each day ready to try new things and be brave to make mistakes. Mistakes lead to learning. As a teacher in an impoverished urban area, we struggle to have access to resources needed to provide a quality twenty-first century education. My goal is to provide an equitable education for each student in our classroom.
I teach eager and enthusiastic students who need these resources to reach their full potential.
My Project
We have just received information that our school will be returning to in-person learning. Our learners are excited to come back, but as their teacher I want to ensure the my students are safe.
Each supply in this project will help the support the safety of each learner as they return back to school.
Here is the breakdown of the project:
1. Headphones - to ensure that students don't share their headphones, each will be provided with their own pair headphones to keep.
2. Masks: Each child will be given one cloth mask to reuse. Having the disposable masks is great to have on hand. If a child forgets, loses, or breaks a mask, it's great to have back-up.
3. Disinfecting Wipes- clean and disinfect the classroom surfaces and supplies
4. Freezer Bags- a safe way to store materials. Learner can store reading books and headphones in bags.
5. Mask Lanyards-allows the learner to keep their mask with them at all times. Less likely to lose their mask.
6. Floor Tape: Floor tape will be used to mark-off safe/social-distancing in the classroom
