A Safe and Welcoming Classroom

Help me give my students a welcoming and safe environment for all students in low income area. A place where they feel safe and can learn. Bean bags so they can decompress and take notes comfortably.

My Project

My students need a safe place to decompress and learn. Majority of my students come from low-income housing. Providing them bean bag chairs, a rug, a way to organize paper for students to express their feelings through art. A lot of the students do not get their basic needs met at home and I strive to ensure they are at least met here in my classroom. With effort I have invested through myself already, I notice a difference in attitude and students trusting me, even students that may not have me a teacher, know my classroom is a safe place, so I would love to grow and make it an even better and more welcoming/warm place to be. These students deserve so much and are constantly on guard because of the area they live in. They need a place they don't have to worry. This creates an amazing learning environment when you build a strong bond with the students and encourages their learning.
