This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class consists of 21 wonderful and curious students who are learning to read and use technology. Due to the pandemic, this is the first year my students have been in a consistent classroom since 2020. My students have so much potential and are missing some key resources. We are a Title I school and all of our students receive free meals throughout the day.
My Project
This project is all about fostering and developing physical and mental health in my classroom. My students and I need kickballs and playground balls to use when we are outside for physical education. It would be so wonderful to have our own balls to use. In addition to this project helping the class's physical health, this project would also help my student's mental health.
Mental health is always a priority but now more than ever, my students need access to resources that will ease their anxiety.
My project has wonderful tools like fidget toys, stress balls, a coloring book, and basket to hold it all. My students will also have a choice of where to sit with the chairs and pads included in this project. A choice of seating will promote attention, awareness, reduce anxiety and address mental health.
