Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to create a warm and welcoming environment for my students. They deserve an organized and engaging learning environment and I believe that starts from the ground up - a classroom rug!
This classroom rug will give each student their own space to sit comfortably, helping them to feel included and secure.
A classroom rug gives us a space to come together as a class for morning meetings, read-alouds, whole-group lessons and so much more. It will help create routines that build structure and the community in class.
For young learners, having a visual and physical space to sit will help with focus, behavior, and classroom management. Every student will know they have a place in our classroom.
