This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My prekindergarten students are 20 diverse children who prove that it doesn't matter where you come from. What matters is friendship and smiles! All of my students are at different levels of learning. Some are learning to write their names, some are learning how to express feelings to other children, some are learning English and some are learning how to read. The children are thriving in the classroom and is shown through their independence. They know the routines and help other children who may struggle with transitions. They love to play outside and they love singing and dancing! They all love to listen to stories during our several read alouds spread out throughout the day in our meeting area.
My Project
The rug will be placed in the meeting area. In our meeting area, we gather together every morning and talk about the weather, date, and many stories are read there throughout the day. The same area is also used as the block area during center time where the children use soft and hard blocks to build and create structures and whatever else their imaginations can come up with! We also use this area for music time where we sing and dance. The children use this area throughout the day and it becomes a safe and comfortable area where they can always go.
