A Rug for Our Classroom!

My students need a large rug that they can sit on as I teach lessons.

My Students

My students are fantastic human beings in every way! They are passionate about reading and writing as well as being a kind person and a good friend. Our reading and writing program gives students the freedom to read and write about what interests them the most. One student will write an information book about different species of sharks while another student will write an information book about emojis. In our classroom, students are also taught all about their emotions and how to manage them. We learn how to be caring individuals and the best friends we can be.

My Project

We have a small, very old rug in front of the classroom. This is where the students come to sit and learn the lessons of the day. They are learning on this rug as a whole class about 5 to 6 times a day. The rug is also a space where I have small group lessons about 3 to 4 times a day. The rug we have now is way too small and some students have to sit half way on the tile floor to fit. A new rug would help tremendously! It would give the students more space and help them stay focused on what we are learning.
