My students need over twenty books,a variety of novels and non-fiction books to improve their literacy and motivation to read, for example The Uglies, American Born Chinese, The Hunger Games series and National Geographic.

His words are of interest, especially when there can be a lack of interest in reading. An environment conducive to inspiring young readers needs a number of diverse books and novels that help with creating a positive environment.
Our school is considered a Title I school because of the low socioeconomic area.
More than half of the student body is on free and reduced lunch. To assist our students, the administration and faculty of this school have developed several programs to assist: a Food Bag program (students receive food for weekends and extended breaks), Angel Tree for Christmas, clothes and shoes as needed to name a few.
Also, as a way to encourage positive student behaviors over negative, the school supports School Wide Positive Behavior Support, which positively rewards students' behavior with "money" to purchase items they would like. Our school does as much as they can to make sure that when students come to school, they feel safe and motivated to learn.
My Project
My students need over twenty books,a variety of novels and non-fiction books to improve their literacy and motivation to read, for example The Uglies, American Born Chinese, The Hunger Games series and National Geographic. These books will greatly improve our classroom library by having a wide range of genres that will entertain my students during break and scheduled reading times. My hope is that struggling readers will find a book that will capture their attention and inspire them to continue reading, and giving more options for students who love to read.
These donations will help improve my classroom by providing my classroom library with a diverse selection of genres and stories to better engage all readers.
It will change my students' lives for the better by giving them more resources to engage their interest in reading and, hopefully, more of an outlet to pursue their interests.
