My students need documents cameras for work to be modeled for them and enable them to share their work.

My students are a wonderful group of 2nd graders. They attend an urban school where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. The students come from many different backgrounds and face many different challenges in their day to day lives. There are many single income families and families that are receiving assistance in one form or another. Regardless of the challenges these students face, they always come to school with a smile on their face. They are eager to learn and when given an even playing field, they are capable of great things! I want to help even the field for them and their education.
All students enjoy sharing their work and demonstrating how they completed a project. With a document camera my students will be able to take ownership of their work and share with the class what they learned as well as their learning process. They will become their own little teachers. When students are able to share their work they take more pride in it and put more effort into it. This is why a document camera would be beneficial to them to have when they have completed work they are proud of.
Who likes to go the movies and not be able to see the show?
that is what it is like for the students in the back of the room if we are working on a worksheet or assignment together. I would like to receive an additional document camera to use during instruction so the students are able to see the work that is modeled for them. Many of the students would benefit from seeing the steps to the solution but are unable to without it being projected. This will improve their abilities greatly.
