Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our Pre-Kindergarten program is comprised of bilingual, English learners and low-income students. With a total of 75 students in our PreK program, there is definitely a mixture of personalities, backgrounds, and abilities. However, they are always eager to learn and challenge themselves in everything they do. They love to play and explore the world around them. They are a fun-loving group of 4-5-year-olds.
Their excitement for learning and exploring is beyond measure.
I teach at a school that provides free breakfast to all their students and free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
This project will help resupply our classroom with much needed paper products and crafting supplies. Help us ignite our imagination and creativity with colored tissue paper and construction paper. We will use these in creating bright letter name crafts, special holiday crafts like Mother's Day and Earth Day. We will use the cardstock paper while watercoloring and to send out special announcements home. Additionally, the ink pads will allow my students to add a special personalized touch in their crafts and drawings.
All of these items are much needed in a PreK class that is full of young minds ready to learn and explore the colorful world around them.
