A Researcher Among Us

Help me give my students these non fiction books. We do research and informational writing in second grade and need books that are on a second grade reading level.

My Students

Day in and day out my students continue to amaze me! They come to school eager to please and even more eager to learn. They love to create new things and add their own flair to daily assignments.

Everyday my students are pushed to new heights and are exceeding all expectations.

When it is time for us to go off track, many are not excited and ask, "But Mrs. S, can't we just skip going off track and keep learning?"

My Project

These non fiction books include topics that my second graders are interested in and get excited to learn about. Topics such as animal groups, famous landmarks and places to visit.

When teaching research writing, these books are perfect for students to read on their own or in small groups and understand.

They can answer questions related to animals such as what their habitat is like, what they eat and how they survive. The famous landmark books will help students make connections to places such as the Statue of Liberty and how tall it is.

We will use these books to learn about new science and social studies topics as well as writing informational paragraphs about each of the topics. We add an art piece to each informational paragraph and make class books to enjoy in our class library time and time again.
