My Students
My students are genuine, inspirational, beautiful and talented in so many different ways. They come from unique infused cultural backgrounds such as: The Caribbean Islands, South and Central America, Africa, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. They speak different languages at home and come to school proud and excited to share their traditions. They are truly an inspiration. My students are very innovative in everything they do. They are extremely caring and helpful towards others. On a daily basis, they are motivated to new ideas, methods and are willing to find different ways to make the impossible... possible. I admire their passion of learning, and their positive ways of overcoming all challenges and obstacles they may encounter. These students are one of the many leaders for our upcoming future.
My Project
Having the set of different seating and cushions will allow for different structures of learning in my classroom. One way my students will be use these comfortable seats will be during math, writing and reading workshops and discussions. Students can work in groups using these seats and place them around the classroom. Another way they will be used is by working independently. Some of my students prefer working alone, therefore they will allow them to work quietly independently.
With these different options of seating, the learning environment could be more comfortable and exciting for my students.
While having inquiry discussions or during centered activities. On a daily basis, my students would usually complain about having a hard time sitting down on the rug because of knee pain, foot aches and would prefer sitting on a chair thats why I believe cushion mats would provide comfort to my students.
