My Project
My students are bright, enthusiastic learners who come to music class ready to explore, move, and make joyful sounds together. Many come from underserved communities and don’t have access to musical instruments at home, but that doesn’t stop them from giving their best every day. They are creative, curious, and resilient. I’m constantly inspired by how music brings out their confidence and teamwork.
This project will provide 120 recorders, high-quality instruments that are durable, easy to play, and perfect for young learners.
These recorders will make a huge difference in their learning. Each student will be able to use their own instrument, which helps with hygiene, accountability, and daily practice. With their own recorder, students can truly focus on developing skills like breath control, rhythm, melody, and reading music—essential building blocks for future musical success.
My goal is to create a classroom where every child has the tools they need to succeed and feel proud of their progress. Having enough recorders for every student means no one gets left out. Everyone can participate fully in hands-on music making. With these instruments, we’ll be able to prepare for performances, explore creative expression, and build a solid foundation in music literacy that will stay with them for years to come.
