Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My scholars love to read! Whether students are reading in the library, they read independently or they decide to visit our schools’ library; they’re somewhere reading a book! Ensuring that my students have a love of literacy and print is extremely important to me and increases their phonics, comprehension and fluency skills.

Having a functioning, organized classroom library that my students can easily access is key in the literacy block!

By giving my students a library that is organized and has clear bins that students can see into, this will make replacing texts easier. Having a magnetic display for the SEL book of the week and Read Aloud will also get students excited for reading! I cannot wait to add these elements to our classroom and watch my scholars imagination take flight!
