This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have a library with wonderful stories, but we need a library we can independently read too!

I teach 25 energetic, ready to learn Kindergarten students.

For most of my students this is their first school experience and I want it to be a memorable one! Kindergarten sets the foundation for the rest of their educational careers and your donation will help me maximize their experiences. Our school is located in South Los Angeles, CA. We are a 100% Title I school, which means all of our students qualify for free meals.

My Project

I am requesting books that are leveled to accommodate my students guided reading levels. We have a library in our class, but the words in most of those books are too difficult for my students to read. Library time becomes more of a "let's look at the pictures" time. My students will use these books to practice their reading and decoding skills independently and in small groups during our guided reading time.

This project will make a huge difference in the quality time my students spend in the classroom library.

They will have books that will make them feel and see that they are readers and storytellers. It will help sharpen their reading skills and build confidence, and I thank you for helping me do that.
