My Students
I am teaching two classes with a total of 54 students, about 27 students in each class. My students are in their first year of the Chinese immersion program and they've already made amazing progress. They are a compassionate group of kids that have a real desire to learn a second language at such a young age. They are learning science, social studies, literacy, and math in Chinese every half day and are always asking for more books and interactive materials. I have such a large passion for sharing with them the beautiful Chinese culture that I grew up with in my youth. With these extra funds, I know for a certainty that my students will be able to enjoy learning in my class and have a more positive and thriving learning environment.
My Project
My goal is to create a friendly classroom that encourages the students to have an amazing learning environment with a designated reading area. I feel that we can help stimulate these students greatly with a reading corner and a range of more diverse books.
My students have been through so much already with having to deal with learning during Covid, and I just want to maintain that they have the resources to keep growing.
I am requesting some of these books and reading area supplies for my classroom. The supplies will provide the students with a reading corner to help them check in on their personal feelings, and be able to also reflect on themselves. In this project, I want to help my students to understand their Social Emotional learning in school.
