My Students

My classroom is always buzzing. We are a very busy first grade class as we are always exploring and experimenting to answer inquiry based questions. I am hoping to add some great new features to my classroom to make learning even more exciting and flexible for all of my students.

As an engineering school for children, all of my students are scientists.

They are curious and have a strong desire to answer their questions through the engineering process and experimentation. They think deeply about problems and are great problem solvers who work together. They have a great sense of community among their peers, both older and younger. They truly are the vision of the future.

My Project

First graders are curious and always exploring. Their day consists of asking and answering questions, and learning something new everyday! However, some questions they have require a little deeper research to answer.

My students would greatly benefit from more nonfiction classroom library books that are at their own independent reading level.

This way, they would be able to explore the world around them and answer their questions simply by opening a book!

My students are great learners, inquirers, and love to learn! The gift of nonfiction texts are a great way for them to extend their learning done in the classroom.
