Reading is an adventure that can take students so many places beyond the four walls of a classroom. Through various stories of fact and fiction, the ability to build those experiences through reading must be attainable to all students at any reading level.
In my kindergarten classroom students come with different experiences and abilities but all come eager to learn and read.
They are inquisitive and ready to show what they know and experience new things to take them farther in their learning.
Our classroom library is an essential part of each students learning and is the foundation to help each of these wildly imaginative students soar to new experiences and further their journeys in learning.
My Project
The books provided to create our own classroom library would be a resource students would be able to access everyday. With an early reader leveled classroom library every student will have access to books they can confidently read. Many students can become overwhelmed by books not specifically written with a beginning reader in mind, and may begin to lose confidence in themselves and their ability to become a reader.
Helping give students a classroom library they can find books that are the right fit for them from not only helps build their learning but helps create a world of new confidant readers!
