My Project

I work with ten vibrant special needs students who love learning but who also struggle to express their feelings.  With different cognitive levels, my students can become overwhelmed by many things. Yet books are something they all love and understand, and bring a sense of belonging.

Giving them books and support will help them learn to regulate their emotions throughout the day.

Providing my elementary special needs students with Little SPOT books as visuals and comforting support items will help them understand their feelings more and know that emotions are okay.

We just need to communicate our feelings and ask for help.  

Each of my students has individual needs and learns differently. They also crave understanding and security. By providing them with various social-emotional learning tools, we encourage them to find ways to regulate and discuss their feelings positively and safely and bring some solace to their day.
