Help me give my students books at their reading levels to read while using comfortable furniture like the bean bag chairs and wobble chairs. The tennis balls will provide a quiet reading environment for 22 students.
I teach at a Title I school located in a small rural town in East Texas. At our Title I school, many of the students come from poor families. As research shows, these students are already at a disadvantage with a lack of books at home to read and limited exposure to academic and social vocabulary at home. Help me raise the academic success statistics for these Title I students!
The students here have kind hearts, curious minds, drive, and so much more!
They may be little, but they sure are mighty! Our students have bright futures ahead of them!
The students love reading and math stations, hands-on activities, sharing their published writing projects, and working collaboratively in groups.
My project items will make a huge difference in my students' learning and the environment in which they learn. The comfortable bean bag chairs, wobble chairs, and plastic seating spots will provide a variety of places to sit while students read books around the room. This will provide a change to the standard desk and chair arrangement!
The tennis balls will definitely help keep the noise down with 22 2nd graders!
Concentration is key while reading a great book, especially for a young reader!
The books requested in my project will help provide my lower level readers with books that are on their levels. Having a classroom library is essential for developing a love of reading in a classroom. Students are able to pick books based on interest instead of by lack of choice. A love for reading starts at a young age! Help my kids find a great book to comfortably read in my classroom!
